10 Days in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima
Curator Statement : Rarely does a destination serve it all the way Japan does: mouthwatering food, buzzing nightlife, serene temples, futuristic cities,
and hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. Whether you’re chasing neon lights in Tokyo, wandering through Kyoto’s timeless streets, or savoring an onsen soak in Osaka, Japan is the
ultimate grown folks getaway — luxe, vibrant, and unforgettable. This 10-day itinerary is your cheat code to experiencing the best of it all.
Where to Drop Your Bags
Of the vast array of neighborhoods in Japan, these are my recommended areas to stay in for each city:
Tokyo – Shinjuku, Shibuya & Asakusa
Neon lights, endless eats, buzzing nightlife, plus the charm of temples and markets — Tokyo’s modern edge meets its traditional soul.
Kyoto – Gion & Higashiyama
Lantern-lit streets, teahouses, and serene temples make this the perfect backdrop for slowing down and soaking in timeless Japan.
Osaka – Namba & Umeda
The city’s lively food scene, nightlife, and easy day-trip access make these districts a foodie’s playground with nonstop energy.
Day 1 : Tokyo
Asakusa & Skytree — Tradition meets skyline
Step into Tokyo’s past at Senso-ji, the city’s oldest and most vibrant temple. Wander Nakamise-dori, a lively shopping street lined with stalls selling souvenirs and snacks that have been favorites for centuries. As evening falls, rise above it all at the Tokyo Skytree, where sweeping views of the city glow against the night sky.
End your day in true Tokyo style by having a taste of Tonkatsu in Asakusa — light, crispy, and unforgettable.
Start the day with a feast for your senses at the Tsukiji Outer Market, where sizzling seafood skewers, sushi stands, and kitchen treasures await at every corner.
Then dive straight into the future at TeamLab Borderless, an immersive art museum where the walls move, colors flow, and digital creations react to your touch. Cap the evening in Roppongi with dinner and city views — Tokyo buzzing all around you.
Day 2 : Tokyo
Tsukiji & TeamLab Borderless - Flavors & Future Worlds
Day 3 : Tokyo
Harajuku, Shibuya & Shinjuku — Fashion, Crossing, Nightlife
Begin with the playful energy of Harajuku’s Takeshita Street, where bold fashion and sweet crepes set the tone. Wander down chic Omotesando Avenue, Tokyo’s “Champs-Elysees,” before slurping a bowl of rich tonkotsu at Ichiran Ramen, dividers down if you’re with friends. The afternoon belongs to Shibuya Crossing — a neon-lit moment straight out of a movie — before the night takes you into Shinjuku, where tiny lantern-lit alleys and the eclectic bars of Golden Gai keep the energy going late.
Day 4 : Tokyo
Akihabara & Farwell Tokyo — Pop Culture Thrill
Your last day is pure fun — welcome to Akihabara, Tokyo’s mecca of anime, gaming and arcades. Explore multi-level claw machines, rhythm games, and collectibles before suiting up for a street go-kart ride, zipping through the city dressed like your favorite character (Mario Kart dreams, unlocked). End the trip on a high note with a refined omakase dinner at Ginza Kyubey, one of Tokyo’s most celebrated sushi restaurants — a perfect farewell to a city that blends tradition, play, and luxury in every corner.
Think serene temples in Kyoto ⛩️, Sizzling street food feasts in Osaka 🍜, and history that stays with you in Hiroshima 🌸.
✨ This is just a sample itinerary — yours can be adjusted to match your vibe — as detailed or as flexible as you like.
